Prepare the plan before checkout
A written checklist gives your cleaner a clear picture of what the next guest should find. Use this guide to prepare your property instructions and discuss the cleaning scope with UrbanAide. It is a planning guide; the tasks included in your booking are confirmed in your quote.
Begin with the checkout time, next arrival time and property access. Check whether your guest has requested a late departure or if the building has access restrictions. Leave enough time for cleaning, any agreed bed changes and a final walk-through.
Kitchen
- Check for food, rubbish and items left behind.
- Review benches, sink, stovetop and splashback.
- Check the fridge and the appliances included in the agreed scope.
- Confirm dishes and utensils are ready for the next stay.
- Check your agreed stock of guest essentials.
Bathrooms
- Review toilets, showers, basins, mirrors and floors.
- Check for hair, residue and personal items.
- Set out towels according to the property instructions.
- Check toilet paper and any host-supplied toiletries.
- Flag leaks, damage or unusually heavy build-up for attention.
Bedrooms and living areas
- Confirm which beds, including sofa beds, need to be prepared.
- Make sure the correct clean linen is available if provided by the host.
- Check accessible surfaces, floors and under-bed areas within scope.
- Reset cushions and movable items to their intended positions.
- Check wardrobes and drawers for items left by guests.
The final guest-ready check
Walk through the property as if you are arriving for the first time. Review the entrance, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. Check the presentation against your instructions, then confirm any property-specific closing tasks, such as keys, windows and access arrangements.
Record maintenance issues separately from cleaning tasks. A loose handle, leaking tap or broken appliance needs the right follow-up; adding it to a cleaning note does not make it part of a standard turnover.
Make the checklist fit your home
Keep the checklist short enough to use, and update it when the property changes. A new sofa bed, a different linen supply or a revised guest capacity can change the cleaning requirements. Agree any additional tasks before the next booking.
